My name is Kohei Yoshida, and this is my blog page. I blog about my activities on OpenOffice.org and other stuff.

I am married, a father of two, and lives in the suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m originally from Japan, where I spent the first 22 years of my life. My parents and all my relatives are still there, so I hope to go back there every now and then. Because my wife is from Shanghai, P.R. China, I also occasionally travel to Shanghai to visit her family as well.

I currently work as a software engineer for Novell, where I enjoy being part of producing the world’s finest Linux desktop distribution known as the SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and openSUSE. At Novell, I work primarily on the Go-OO variant of OpenOffice.org code base. My specialty within OOo is Calc – the spreadsheet program that works similar to Microsoft Excel.

Before I joined Novell, I worked at SlickEdit as a software engineer, where I discovered the world’s most productive code editor. SlickEdit stays my editor of choice to this day.
